Prior to Calliope, for more than eight years, Heifetz was chief financial officer of Paramount's domestic and international video and pay television divisions, where he was also responsible for new business development, manufacturing, and distribution. He served three terms as chairman of the Video Software Dealers Association operations committee.
During his tenure at Time, Inc., Heifetz managed cable television systems and worked at corporate headquarters in new business development, where he was responsible for several different areas of new technologies including interactive cable systems, addressable technology, and ancillary services such as home security and home shopping.
Heifetz served five years as head of marketing for both the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hollywood Bowl.
Heifetz also directs a consulting and investment firm, World Eight Ventures, whose clients and interests include Fortune 500 and entrepreneurial companies in a variety of industries, including communications, publishing, cable television, satellite programming, transitional shelter, and interactive multimedia.
Heifetz earned a bachelor's degree in literature and television production from UCLA and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University.
